Implementation

The lesson that are planned cover The National Curriculum themes of athletics, dance, gymnastics and games (net & wall, invasion and striking & fielding). The lessons planned used age-appropriate PE resources that support and enhance their understanding and skills. Lessons are divided into 3 elements • Input • Activity • Plenary The inputs are normally a quick starter to capture and focus the . They build on the fundamental movement skills of agility, balance, and co-ordination. Usually, a moving activity will help to get the blood pumping and warm the  up. Following on are the stretches and discussion into what they will be learning. The activity is where the  work through a range of activities around a theme or learning objective. This allows the  to have opportunities to extend and challenge their learning skills but gives time to receive support if required. The plenary is where we cool down, discuss what they have just learnt and reflect on their learning. The plenary also allows the  to share their learning with their peers. Sometimes lessons can be linked over a number of weeks this allows the  to consolidate their learning and revise and revisit skills. SMSC is embedded throughout PE. The  are encouraged to challenge themselves and be confident in their abilities. They develop an emphasis on fair play and  learn what constitutes good sportsmanship. PE is a team sport and throughout the curriculum, they work and engage in collaborative learning and team activities.  must accept differences and resolve conflicts quickly in order to achieve success.
