Visit to the Houses of Parliament

This week, our Year 6 children had the exciting opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament in London. The trip, which ties in with their current learning on British democracy and government, gave them a firsthand look at how laws are made and how Parliament operates.

The children were thrilled to tour the historic building, including the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and even had the chance meet our local Member of Parliament, Jeremy Hunt. They also participated in a workshop where they explored how citizens can engage with the democratic process. It was inspiring to see their curiosity as they asked questions about voting, leadership, and the roles of MPs and Lords.

This visit was a wonderful way to bring their classroom learning to life, helping them understand the importance of active citizenship. We hope this experience will inspire our Year 6 pupils to continue learning about their rights and responsibilities as future voters and leaders.

A big thank you to our staff and parent volunteers for making this trip such a success!
